This five day course is designed for university educated engineers involved in slurry process design and the operation of centrifugal slurry pumps and pipeline systems. The theoretical and practical aspects of slurry transport are covered by an international staff of experts in the field.
The format includes classroom lectures, together with multiple demonstrations of slurry flow in the GIW Hydraulic Lab. Lectures are combined with working sessions and culminate in an extended “Total System Design” workshop where participants can practice the skills they have learned. New developments in the field are regularly incorporated into the curriculum.
The course is sponsored by the GIW Hydraulic Lab. Students receive a full copy of the lecture presentations, plus the associated 4th Edition textbook “Slurry Transport Using Centrifugal Pumps”, by Visintainer, Matoušek, Pullum, and Sellgren.
